For many people, the desire to grow and learn is a constant. If you’ve been in your career for a while, you might find yourself looking at local colleges, checking out new programs, and considering whether you want to amp up your education. If you’re feeling the call to go back to school, it might mean that you need to find a job that will work with your new education goals, or it might mean that you need to start searching for a job in the field that you plan on studying so you can get your foot in the door.
You Want to Do Something Big
Most people will reach a point in their life where they suddenly feel safe and stable enough to take a big risk and do something really challenging. In some cases, it’s starting a business. In some cases, it’s leaving a high paying stressful job for a lower-paying but more enjoyable job. If you feel like your life has reached a plateau and you’re searching for a way to challenge yourself or take a risk, it could be a sign that you’re burnt out and you need a new career that you are passionate about.
You’ve Been Turning Your Hobby into Income
These days, we’ve found dozens of ways to monetize our hobbies, whether through Etsy shops or offering our services as a tour guide of our local hiking trails. Just about everybody has a side hustle. If that side hustle is actually turning a profit, you might want to consider making it a full-time endeavor!
Changing careers is always a big decision, but if you’ve been rolling the idea around in your head for a while, you’ll be pleased to know that there are many justifications for making the leap. The real question is when you’ll decide to just go for it.
