GLOBAL HHG OPERATIONS ACCOUNT MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Global HHG Operations Account Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the client’s needs and proactively work with the operations team (no direct reports) to ensure that service delivery is at a stellar level of performance.  The Manager may become involved in day to day activities of issue resolution, spot pricing and negotiations, developing appropriate move management practices and processes for the Corporate Client, and serving as subject matter expert for the various  department representatives internally within the Client’s organization.  The Manager is a troubleshooter, client services peacemaker as well as job inspections for VIP shipments in/out of the Seattle area. The position reports to the Vice President, Move Management and has responsibility for the HHG Account Management for one of the most highly regarded Corporate Clients in our Client’s portfolio.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Global HHG Operations Manager must have the ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously, (some complex in nature), build client trust through relationship management, utilizing deep understanding of transportation tariffs and pricing in negotiating beneficial pricing while balancing quality and pricing, successfully manage Corporate Client expectations, manage to deadlines and budgets, rely on extensive experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals, work collaboratively with colleagues and service partners pertinent to execution of position responsibilities and support Company vision and value statements, policies and procedures, privacy, security and confidentiality standards and code of ethical behavior.

 

Partner with the global move management team to ensure quality service delivery to our clients and their transferees including monitoring service levels. 

Successful manage the account management responsibilities and deliver based upon the corporate client and organization’s expectations.

Demonstrate industry expertise in house hold goods transportation.

Operational knowledge of HHGs tariff pricing for intrastate and interstate moves

Make decisions on contracts and vendor selection based on knowledge of matrix management (balancing quality service vs. pricing)

Onsite department contact for operational escalation and issue resolution

Work with teams to create exit barriers and process solutions

Effectively communicate with and build trust relationships with department counterparts and client contacts

Develop and interpret appropriate reports for tracking of issues, trends and cost elements to aid in improving effectiveness and efficiency of the department

Ensure team members have tools and resources needed to perform role responsibilities including but not limited to current, accurate and complete information regarding client policy, service partners/suppliers, service metrics and expectations

Demonstrate knowledge of and support Company vision and value statements, policies and procedures, privacy, security and confidentiality standards and code of ethical behavior

Work collaboratively with colleagues and with service partners pertinent to execution of position responsibilities

Participate in prospective domestic client pursuits including but not limited to RFP documents and implementation projects

 

TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

7+ years successfully managing service teams within the transportation industry, directly involved with corporate clients and with increasing responsibilities
Comprehensive knowledge of corporate transportation business

Relationship building skills within the Client’s organization and with client/partner organizations

Strong knowledge of various software packages including but not limited to Microsoft products and Outlook

Communicate effectively at all levels within organizations; verbal and written

Travel independently as required by Company and or client

 

EDUCATION

Bachelors’  Degree or equivalent combination of experience, skills, training and education.
