CONTROLLER / DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING

Our Client, a growing global leader in the relocation industry is searching for a leader of Client and Corporate Accounting who will supervise the Accounting team, manage the Accounts Receivable, all a spects of the team members responsible for expense audit, application of taxable and excludable expenses, wage gross ups, wage requests and payroll reporting, equity funding, mortgage payoff, and home sale reconciliation, and audit of completed files. 

 

Job Summary:

The Director, Accounting is responsible for the day to day activity for the client accounting function. The Director, Accounting oversees and manages the client accounting staff. The Director, Accounting performs profit analysis for each client and determines how to improve margins. The Director, Accounting is expected to represent the Client in a professional manner that demonstrates our core values of: Accountability, Leadership, Excellence, Respect and Teamwork.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Trains and manages client accounting staff
  • Ongoing review and implementation of accounting processes
  • Testing software upgrades to ensure functionality meets business needs
  • Review monthly account reconciliations and conduct quarterly reviews with CFO and SVP, Client Services
  • Oversees A/R collection and reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial management statistics to department leads
  • Aligns metrics with business plan initiatives
  • Provides monthly management reporting

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designation preferred
  • Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) designation preferred

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum three (3) years of management experience
  • Experience in leading accounting team
  • Proactive approach in identifying issues and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to understand multiple data points and improve on the processes / costs associated with   the accounting function
  • Strong, clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent work ethic, productivity, discipline, efficiency and multi-tasking abilities, with good organizational and prioritization skills, adherence to deadlines
  • General proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Advanced skills in Excel preferred
