Our client is seeking an experienced appraisal specialist to join its dynamically growing team as a Valuation Consultant. As a part of the Appraisal Management Team, this individual’s primary responsibility is to ensure relocation appraisals are accurate, and supported by appropriate comparable data. The Valuation Consultant is responsible for the final review of all relocation appraisals completed on behalf of clients transferring associates. A University Degree plus professional designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) – Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) is required for consideration.
The Valuation Consultant is also responsible to monitor our Client’s Appraisal Network and make recommendations for additions or removals based upon performance. This individual is available as a resource to both the Operations Teams and Corporate Clients to provide industry related educational opportunities (e.g. internal webinars, meetings and general partnering).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review all relocation appraisals for accuracy and appropriateness per the company’s Scope of Review including CERC guidelines and CUSPAP (Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice).
- Ensure that the comparable data used and the adjustments are appropriate.
- Communicate with the appraisers to clarify information as required.
- Update the Appraisal Management system with required information.
- Provide appropriate and necessary communication with the Operations Team throughout the review process.
- Reconcile information from the Broker Market Analysis, Home Inspection (if required) and all other pertinent data (including Vendor Property Disclosure Form) with the appraisals to ensure all aspects have been factored into value.
- Recommend further review, inspections or repairs for areas of concern.
- Final signing of condition removal documents confirming repairs have been completed or further investigations are satisfactory.
- Upon completion of the review process, prepare the final value information and review worksheet. Provide the final value form to the relocation counselor via email and through the company’s system.
- Periodically perform performance reviews of Appraisal Network members including turn-around time, accuracy of the appraisals and quality of reports.
- As needed, place appraisers on performance plans for improvement.
- Identify new members as needed, and to provide the final approval for all additions and deletions to the company’s Appraisal Network.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of appraisal process. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, vendors and other employees.
Education Level/Professional Requirements: University Degree plus professional designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) – Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA)
Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills
Reasoning Ability: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects. Prioritizes and meets deadlines. Work independently and as part of a team. Ability to problem solve using sound judgment.
